Kleinpanic

Endemic species form the African savanna. Cultivar developed in the United States in 1982.
 

Main characteristics:

  • High tolerance to cold temperatures and frosts.
  • High tolerance to droughts.
  • Early resprouting in springtime.
  • Excellent forage quality.
  • Very good quality as a deferred cultivar.
  • Tolerance to alkaline-sodic soils.
  • Adapts easily to direct seeding.

Planting density: 6 - 10 kg. ha/year
Seeding season: Springtime – From February to the end of March.
Production: 5.5 – 8 tons/DM/ha/year
Soils: Loam, loam sandy, loam clay.
